Creativity in scheduling can more effectively meet clients' treatment needs and is a significant benefit of private pay therapy: You're in the driver's seat with your treatment goals. I offer intensive and extended sessions for both couples work and for individual EMDR. An intensive or extended session involves working in a focused manner for 90 minutes or up to 6 hours (with at least one break of course) in a single day. For the right client, scheduling your sessions in this way can remove what would otherwise be barriers to your treatment.

Common reasons I see clients for extended and/or intensive sessions:

Scheduling: If finding time to tend to your relationships and the things that bring you joy is already a stressor, adding a weekly appointment obligation can feel like an impossibility. This can be especially relevant for couples with opposite schedules or service members navigating deployment, or healthcare workers and first responders navigating shift work.

EMDR Focus: Sometimes when working with an individual therapist, you may wish to add EMDR to your treatment but don't want to lose your regular therapist. You don't have to choose: I enjoy collaborating with other clinicians in this way and, if you are a candidate, we can schedule targeted sessions to help enhance your progress and ability to implement the skills your current therapist is guiding you in applying.

Budget: Working in an extended or intensive format can mean fewer sessions and less out of pocket cost. Feeling better, sooner, for good.

If I can answer any questions about scheduling an intensive or extended session, please message me through the contact form to schedule a complimentary consult. I am happy to talk through options that are the best fit for you, your goals, and your budget.
