Intuition can look like different things.
Maybe you have a certain feel for a procedure in your line of work or maybe you get a sense of something big coming up.
When intuition and anxiety coexist, it can be confusing and worrisome.
That's where therapy - and in particular the use of EMDR, ego state work, and art therapy - can be extremely helpful.
If we experienced our intuition as confusing or, if as a kid, we confused knowing with causing, we might develop negative core beliefs. "I'm bad." "I did something wrong."
If later experiences of loss, trauma, and disconnect impact our relationship with ourselves and our reasoning, this can impact our ability to distinguish anxiety from intuition. A core belief may develop from traumatic experience of "I can't trust myself," or "I can't let it out."
When we can reprocess the negative core beliefs through EMDR, we can temper the anxiety. Intuition - knowing, trusting, understanding - becomes simultaneously clearer and stronger.
EMDR helps us clear the cobwebs of doubt to remember the truth of our capacity.
